Although moving to a new area is exciting, it can also be daunting.  After living in Maine all of her life, my sister, Sue and her husband, Dick, recently moved to the “other” Portland to be closer to their daughter.  Leaving a home where they had raised their daughter, packing up and trying to figure out what to bring and what to leave behind, and eventually saying goodbye to lifelong friends and family was draining but trying to figure out where they wanted to live in Portland Oregon was another challenge.  Which part of Portland would be best for them? What Real Estate Broker should they use?  Is buying a home in Oregon different than it is in Maine? Where do I go to get a mortgage, title insurance? Will I make the right decision?

Well, Sue and Dick have been living in Portland for the last nine months and are managing just fine and love being near their daughter and her husband.
